Unique actual Military issue mechanical sell-winding diving watch…U.S. Government signed dial….only of this type to be manufactured…will be collectible in future! Brand new, with laser engraved May, 2013 contract date & individual serial numbered back. This is similar to the famous discontinued SAR model except the dial utilizes the revolutionary tritium glass vial illumination system. It is rated for 1000 foot submersion. It is a nice sized watch. The movement is a 25 jewel automatic ETA 2824-A2 that has been adjusted for positions and temperature. The crystal is sapphire – 2.8mm thick x 30.50mm diameter. The case is cut from solid 316L stainless steel and is approximately 41x46mm in diameter. The unidirectional bezel diameter is 41.10mm and case height is 13.85mm. The steel back has full military markings. Screw down crown is deep knurled. The total weight of the watch head is 93.1 grams.

Supplied with black Swiss made 20mm military natural rubber strap.

For the May, 2013 run of the GSAR, Marathon introduced a new improved dial with 1/5 increments or indices between the minute markers giving the observer even more precise measurement capabilities. Marathon chose to keep the original red tipped second hand with distinctive red arrow tip filled with Luminova. Later current versions of the GSAR have a tritium tube tipped second hand. Only May, 2013 run of approximately 250 pieces had this dial/original second hand combination.

This newest version of the GSAR was improved over previous versions: it features the aforementioned natural rubber strap, an ETA 2824-A2 engraved with Marathon Watch Co. and an improved 120 click uni-directional rotating bezel.
