Description
The Hamilton Khaki Field King puts a chic spin on the traditional Hamilton military watch. This watch disguises its toughness in an elegant brushed steel case with a more modern dial. Each minute is marked (and hours measured) according to either a 12 or 24-hour system. At 12 o’clock there is an easy-to-read day and date display. High-quality Swiss Eta 2824 movement is displayed through the display back. The rotor is engraved with Hamilton’s logo
Hamilton provided watch to the UAS military beginning in WWI up through the 1980s. The Hamilton Khaki Field King watch is superb homage to their reputation for making tough watches that could be counted on in the field or while navigating a tank, ship or flying fortress.

If you are considering spending the money on a Khaki King, I would recommend you do it. There are a lot of things to like about this watch. For the price, you are going to get a lot of bang for your buck, as most Swiss movement automatics will cost you significantly more. The Khaki King has a classic military watch look, and looks great either on a SS band, the leather band, or a NATO band if you’re looking to switch up the look. Great day/date functions at the top, dial with clear and well lumed numbers. There are a couple of small touches that make a big difference in my opinion. First, the case and lugs have a nice brushed look, while the bezel is a polished, which gives a subtle contrast. Following the same logic of small detail changes in texture, the dial itself has a slight raise in the interior with flat dial, while under the 1-12 markers there is a waved/raised texture, which goes back to raised/flat texture on seconds markers. The nuts and bolts of this watch are great as well – the version I received is the newer version, which has the H40 movement, that has an 80hr power reserve and runs at 6 beats per second. I’m happy to trade a lower beat per second for a larger reserve, and when I compare to my Hamilton Khaki field (an older version) that runs at 8 beats per second, I doubt that the majority of people would be able to see a huge difference. You can manually wind if necessary, and the version I received is hacking, and says “Swiss Made” below 6 on the dial. Ultimately, this is not only a great value, but an extremely beautiful watch.”
