Marathon Watch Company began producing Military Watches at the beginning of the last century and is now in its fourth generation of family-owned operation!

The company that was to become the Marathon Watch Company (Marathon) was founded in 1904 as Weinsturm Watch, later to be named Wein Brothers.  In 1939, Marathon was established in Montreal while still manufacturing in Switzerland.  They began manufacturing Marathon Military watches timing instruments for the Allied Forces in 1941.  These met the critical needs of the Allies during WWII and lived up to their reputation, “Best in the Long Run”.

During the first Gulf War, the US Army sent out an urgent request for a true military watch. Enter Marathon, already a tried and trusted supplier, to supply Military timepieces. For their extensive service, Marathon became the U.S. military's watch of choice.  Marathon timepieces are now standard issue for the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, NASA, Canadian Armed Forces, and Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) as well as law enforcement and government agencies worldwide.  They continue to provide ever more innovative watches to government and military forces globally.  In fact, they are the only current active military watch contractor to the US Government.

In 1996 Windy City Watch Collector began to sell Marathon Watches to like-minded watch enthusiasts and collectors from a location on North Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, and later established a location on a central canal (Singel) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.  Windy City Watch Collector is the oldest authorized retailer of Marathon products to the public in the US and Europe!  We ship daily using USPS, UPS, and DHL Express for overseas orders to Europe, Australia, and the far east.
