W3 7760 Racing Chronograph

This W3 7760 Racing Chronograph watch was designed and executed by my friend Chris Pappas of Wilson Watch Works in Wilson, NC.  The watch was conceived and created using a chronograph case made for a Valjoux 7750 chronograph and modifying it for a desirable Elaboré Grade Valjoux 7760 chronograph.  Chris took the design-build further with a double bead blast and the installation of a special carbon fiber dial.  The watch was originally purchased by a collector and pilot in North Carolina who traded it in on an Aviation CSAR Marathon chronograph watch.  Even though the watch had not been worn, Chris inspected it and applied his Certified Pre-owned inspection regimen to it.  He decided to further enhance it by adding a sapphire display back which really does make this a special custom timepiece.

Case: Made In Germany – 42mm 316L Custom 2 stage beadblasted finish with ceramic tachymeter bezel, Swiss made sapphire crystal, coin edge crown, threaded exhibition caseback with sapphire crystal. Lug to lug 48.35mm. Height 16.75mm. 20mm lug width. Water Resistant rating 50 meters.

Dial: Made In Germany – Carbon fiber dial applied with C1 Superluminova.

Hand set: Blued hands applied with C1 Superluminova.

Movement: Swiss Made – ETA 7760 Elaboré Grade – 28,000 a/h – Manual wind 17 jewel nickel plated Incabloc shock resistant movement. Quickset day and date function. Running seconds at 9 o’clock, 12 hour counter at 6 pm and 30 minute counter at 12 o’clock. Sweep chronograph center second hand and hack set feature.

Strap: 20mm/18mm premium calf leather rally strap with red stitching and beadblasted stainless steel buckle.

You can obtain this watch for a fraction of the original cost and below the actual build cost to make an identical watch.  Remember though that this is a custom piece and there is not another of these out there.  It is that special!
