When the US Government had the need for a high high-quality digital watch for use in the field in combat situations, the Marathon Watch Company was called on to designed and supplied the Marathon ADANAC watch: General Purpose Digital (GPD).  The watch is a genuine U.S. Military Issue with NSN 6645-01-356-5944 (6645013565944).  It is shock-resistant and features a black IP coated 316L stainless case.  The large size allows for a dial that is more visible under adverse conditions. No this is not an ordinary plastic digital watch but rather a purpose-built tactical military field watch!

The name "ADANAC" has been used by the Marathon Watch Company since the 1980s when they produced a steel Navigator Watch for the USAF.  ADANAC is "Canada" spelled backward and is the clever name given to some of Marathon's special product lines.
