This special edition Marathon J.Crew Navigator “BLUE” was the result of a collaboration between Marathon Watch Co. and fashion house J.Crew.  It was limited to 500 pieces and is now sold out!

The dial reminds us of Marathon’s original SAR released in 2000 and the unique dark blue case reminds us that the watch is designed to be a home high in the dark blue sky as an aviation watch.  The overall design with a striped NATO strap is in my mind one of the best fashion interpretations of a watch originally manufactured as the necessary equipment to get a job done.  This is a true successful collaboration between two successful entities that compliment one another.

The original Navigator is the current issue, USAF, USN, USMC and IDF Duvdevan and has been issued and worn by troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Since 1996, this has been one of our most popular models!  This is the newest model with sapphire glass crystal, steel crown, and battery hatch on rear of case for easier battery changes.

The Marathon Military Navigator Date Pilot’s Quartz with Tritium illumination is a highly accurate watch built to strict military specifications – in accordance with MIL-PRF-46374G Type III, Class 1 US Government Specification.  First developed by Marathon Watch Company in 1986, the Marathon Navigator Date Watch with Tritium is designed for pilots, parachutists, and law enforcement, and is made to withstand the challenges that may face it in a professional or everyday environment.

This Military Navigator Pilot’s Quartz with Date uses a special sapphire crystal with metal surround design which is resistant to extremely rapid changes in pressure that would be experienced by a parachutist and would normally cause a watch’s crystal to shatter or come loose from the watch.

The Marathon J.Crew Navigator “BLUE” features a high-quality Swiss-made high precision Quartz Movement with Date feature as well as a distinctive orange metallic dial, special color case, and matching NATO strap.  The watch is water resistant to 6 ATM (196 Ft) and is designed for maintaining accuracy at high altitude to 35,000 FT without compensating pressurization.  The case is made of an extremely durable nylon/fiberglass composite material and has a 41mm case size which is 13mm thick.  The rotating outer bezel provides marking for a second-time zone so that you can keep time in two time zones simultaneously. The dial is signed “Marathon” and features the radioactive symbol (Tritium isotope), with your choice of 3 additional government markings.  Tritium tubes are self-illuminating gas tubes which contain an isotope of hydrogen that glows 20 times brighter than an ordinary luminous watch.  They will not dull over time like normal photoluminescent (glow-in-the-dark) paint which requires an external light source to create a glow.  The stainless steel back has engraved full military markings including “Watch, Wrist: Navigators” and Nato Stock Number 6645-01-544-9475.
